Raising Awareness For NMO
After three weeks in and out of hospital to help regain lost vision in both eyes, I have recently been diagnosed with NMO. I seek to raise awareness of this rare disease, so that others can get help as soon as symptoms arise and potentially avoid irreversible damage.
Dear Family, Friends, & Colleagues,
After nearly 40 years of robust health, I have spent the last three weeks in hospital fighting for my vision back.
I lost my ability to see in both eyes rapidly over the period of weeks this holiday season.
I have been diagnosed with NMO, a rare neurological disease that is similar to multiple sclerosis, and one which commonly – and acutely – affects the eyes.
I seek to raise awareness, and am today asking for your help.
The Guthy Jackson Charitable Foundation not only funds research for NMO, but it also provided my family and I with invaluable information that helped us navigate these last few weeks.
I please ask that you donate whatever amount you can to this fundraiser…
And educate yourself – and others – about the disease. This way, if you or a loved one ever experience the symptoms that characterize it, you can get immediate emergency attention to help prevent losing – possibly permanently – what many of us take for granted every day – our eyesight.
100% of your donation to The Guthy-Jackson Research Foundation, Inc. goes directly to research.
Thank you for your time.
Wishing you and your family good health,
Carla
