2011 NMO Roundtable Conference

The Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation’s (GJCF) fourth annual Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO) Roundtable Conference was held November 7 – 9, 2011, at The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.

Attendance

The foundation welcomed its funded NMO Principal Investigators (PIs) as well as foreign and domestic NMO clinicians, researchers and laboratory staff who possess specific knowledge, experience and connectivity to NMO. Attendees also included the founders, medical advisors/consultants, staff, family and friends. As a result, over 85 attendees participated in days one and two of the NMO Roundtable Conference, a 13 percent increase from the 2010 Roundtable Conference.

Goal and Objective

The goal of the fourth annual NMO Roundtable Conference was to convene the “best of the best” in neurodegenerative disease research for the purpose of continued information sharing and promoting scientific collaborations for NMO research. The objective was to engage scientists and clinicians in further collaboration to find better treatment options and scientific results as they work toward an ultimate cure for NMO.
