☀️ Summer heat can be tough—especially for those living with NMOSD and heat intolerance. Staying cool isn’t just about comfort—it’s about protecting your health. Here are some expert-backed tips to help you beat the heat, inspired by the National MS Society:

💧 Hydrate often – Drink cold water throughout the day to stay cool from the inside out.
🧊 Use cooling products – Try cooling vests, neck wraps, or wristbands for quick relief.
🏠 Stay indoors during peak heat – Limit outdoor activity between 10 AM and 4 PM.
🌬️ Use fans and AC – Keep your living space cool with air conditioning or portable fans.
🛁 Take cool showers or foot baths – Lower your body temperature with a quick rinse.
👕 Dress smart – Wear lightweight, breathable, and light-colored clothing.

Watch the new NMOSD Grand Rounds episode today!

The Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation (GJCF) NMOSD Grand Rounds program aims to inform practicing neurology specialists as well as the broader spectrum of neurologists and allied healthcare providers regarding latest information in evidence-based science and medicine of NMOSD. This program features 12 essential topics addressed by experts in the field at a monthly interval. Organized and curated by GJCF advisors, this series of educational webinars enables continuing medical education (CME) credit. This program is also available to the broader NMOSD community for view on YouTube and the Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation's Website Education Center.

Presented by Jacqueline Palace, BM (Hons), FRCP, DM of Oxford University, Session 6 entitled “Evidence-Based Rescue Strategies for Relapse” is designed to update knowledge important for understanding potential therapeutic options to mitigate inflammatory mechanisms of NMOSD relapse and prevent or limit disability thereof. Specific discussion points in this regard include medical and procedural (plasma exchange) options based on clinical expertise and experience as well as case reports in the field.
